Blast From the Past, Halloween

I’m on study leave this week, which means I’ve left my darling bride home all alone, completely by herself, to hand out goodies to all the little goblins, ghouls, ballerinas, princesses, and superheroes who come to the door. Or she may just go to a friend’s house to avoid the whole thing. I don’t know at this point. Here’s post from two halloween’s back:

I don’t usually make a big fuss about Halloween. I’m just not into it. Many a Christian will speak to it’s “dark side”––all the witchcraft and demonic activity and what not. I suppose some of that does happen; I’ve just never encountered any of it and I’ve been around a while. Then there’s all the silliness over ghosts and goblins, ghouls and zombies and the whole host of other creepy goons; meh! I do get terribly bothered that recently Halloween seems to have gone done the sexually explicit route in the past few years, even to the point of seeing little girls see if they can’t look like whores. I mean, where are the parents? Oh, yeah; they’re dressing up the same way; shameful.

The boys over at the Sacred Sandwich have helped me out though. I can participate in Halloween’s Trick-or-Treat night with impunity now. Thanks, guys. I’ll share some of my Butterfingers and PeanutButter Smudgies with you later.
